IDEAL LOCATION
Kakopetria is a village really worth visiting. Apart from providing a relaxing place to rest in the countryside, the 'old kakopetria' with its traditional Cypriot architecture, has been declared a historical and archaeological monument, and is a true pleasure to walk in.
The village is also a great mountain resort-base to explore the beautiful Troodos area that holds many delights for tourists, mountain bikers, hikers, skiers, bird watchers and botanists.

PLACES OF INTEREST
The immediate surrounding area is strewn with a great number of sites, such as the restored old flour mill and the Byzantine church of Agios Nikolaos tis Stegis. The church is completely painted with murals dating from the 11th to the 17th century and is considered one of the most interesting Byzantine churches on the island.
The small 16th century church of Panagia tis Theotokou and the church of Agios Perachoritis whcih has some very original wall paintings are also well worth a visit. |
